  Program Description 


FRIEND is a growing program that provides assistance to underserved families of Miami Dade County. Because of the enormous need and rising cost of life these families faces MBCS through this program provides boxes of food as well as clothing and shoes on a weekly basis.

These weekly provisions are made possible due to the generous donations and contributions made by The Daily Bread Food Bank, Brito’s Produce, First Cost of Miami, and others organizations caring for the well being of the community.

FRIEND also provides referrals to job opportunities, and is working towards offering GED completion, immigration help, and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes in an attempt to alleviate most of the everyday conditions our community members face.

Since FRIEND* started serving this community, more than 35,000 families have been blessed by receiving food and clothing every week.
